Conventional porcelain veneers require only about 0.3 to 0.5 mm preparation of enamel. In case of non-preparation veneers, there is no removal of natural teeth. However, it is subject to case selection, which would be discussed during your consultation.
3. How long do veneers last?
In general, veneers can last for about 10 years. However, with proper care and routine dental checks, they can continue to look great even after 20 years.
4. What is the best material for veneers?
The popular choice is E-max laminate veneer (by Ivoclar Vivadent) which is crafted from lithium disilicate glass ceramic. E-max is thinner than traditional porcelains and requires lesser removal of the natural tooth enamel.

Although veneers are immune to cavities, there is tooth structure attached to the veneer that may be exposed and susceptible to decay. Flossing once a day and brushing twice daily with a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste is advised in order to keep your veneers pristine.
